The Anchorites
The Anchorites is an informal dining club which meets for 5 or 6 Dinners a year at the Watermen’s Hall in the City of London, close to Monument Underground Station. With a maritime Guest Speaker, the dinners offer a networking opportunity for members and their guests.

President's Charity 2026
Each year the Anchorites raise money for, and support, a maritime-related charity chosen by The President.
This year, the President is proud to be supporting The Ipswich Sea Cadets.
Handover of Presidents
The annual formal handover of Presidents took place during our Annual General Meeting on 17th February 2026 at The Watermen’s Hall.
Chief Officer Stuart Smith, Master Mariner, PGDip, RFA took the Badge of Honour from our outgoing incumbent Ms Sue Terpilowski FCLT OBE.
